FDA keeps an active notification list
FDA’s current sexual-enhancement and energy-product notifications document products found with hidden drug ingredients and warn that the published list represents only a fraction of problematic products. Absence from the list is not proof of safety.
NCCIH: no complementary approach is proven safe and effective for ED
NCCIH advises caution with products sold for erectile dysfunction or sexual enhancement and notes that ED can signal an underlying condition that needs treatment. This is a category-level warning, not a finding that HorseWood contains an undeclared drug.
Red-flag shopping behavior
- Claims of drug-like or guaranteed effects.
- Pressure to treat a persistent medical symptom without evaluation.
- No usable ingredient/dose information.
- Combining several sexual-enhancement products.
- Ignoring prescription-drug interactions.
Safer process
Verify the label, keep the order record, check FDA notices, and ask a healthcare professional about the full ingredient list when you use medicines or have medical conditions. If symptoms are new, persistent or severe, seek assessment rather than escalating supplement doses.
